City Benefits:

— More than 25,000 full-time jobs.

— $2.5 billion investment from Amazon.

— Facilities totaling 4 million square feet, with the potential to double in size.

— Projected incremental tax revenue of more than $10 billion over 20 years.

There will be 4 million square feet of facility construction with a chance for an additional 4 million coming down the road. That will pump beaucoup bucks into the pockets of New York state contractors and construction suppliers.

Plus the 25 thousand jobs they will create on an average salary of $150 K means a potential $3.75 billion in earnings pumped into the local economy each year going forward.

The $48k sounds scary until one starts totaling ROI that the deal will yield for New York.

I fail to see the down side to this?
