Bloomberg: Supreme Court Lets Trump Strip 500,000 Migrants of Legal Status

Apparently
“came here legally under some program”
does not mean
“Constitutionally entitled to stay here forever and there is nothing any government act can ever do about it.”

Yep. And only Sotomayer and Jackson dissented. I cant see the court doing this if they didn’t know how this was going to end. ICE is going to need that extra funding soon…unless most decide to self deport.

Why don’t we want these people here?

They were allowed in under false pretexts that it was necessary to stop the flow of illegals. There is no purpose in their being here other that an intended fait accompli by whoever ran the Biden administration to get past the immigration laws.
And they can have no expectation to stay here unless they did not understand the meaning of “temporary”.

You didn’t answer the question.

You didn’t like my answer.

You didn’t say why you don’t want them here.

Due to an excessive supply of low-end labor, bottom quintile real earnings remain at 1998 levels.

No quintile left behind.

Inflation-adjusted earnings of the 2nd quintile aren’t much better.

(2002-2003 levels.)

So,
what happens to wages for the lower 40% when these folks and a few million others like them, are removed from the US labor supply?

So we want it to cost $300 to have our lawn cut?

We want our kids to have the opportunity to wash dishes instead of becoming doctors and lawyers?

That’s rather an elitist attitude.

What the truthful headline should have been is, The Supreme Court lets Trump enforce our laws.

Mow it yourself. How about that? :sunglasses: :tumbler_glass:

What do you mean?

That shouldn’t have been said out loud.

Lol.

Probably not.

But it’s the truth.

We’re unending people’s lives here for what? So restaurants have to struggle with labor shortages even more than they do now? So the cost of a sheetrock job goes up 30%?

I don’t get it. I don’t see how it’s in our own best interest.

Seems like cruelty is once again the point of it all.

The litigation over this isn’t over. The lower court had ordered a stay against the Trump administration removing protections pending completion of the litigation. The Supreme Court reversed that stay, so the Trump administration can remove tps while the trial is decided. IMO, they wouldn’t remove that stay unless they knew that their final decision would be that Trump could end tps. What sense would it make to remove their legal status, prohibit them from working, and start deportations if you thought there was a chance you were going to later decide the tps couldnt be removed?

No it’s not the truth. “Our kids” can’t read. And a lot of them are horribly lazy. Mostly because other people do their chores.

They aren’t going to be doctors and lawyers.

And most people with medical degrees should not be doctors anyway.

What you posted was elitest nonsense.

Sounds like it came from the keyboard of a karen.
