Billy Idol, Phish, The Black Crowes, and Chubby Checker are among the nominees for the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
I’m pulling for Chubby Checker and New Order/Joy Division to get in.
Chubby Checker… now I have to listen to some. 
Sincere question. I’m really not trying to downplay their contribution. Did I miss something about Bad Company? Am I the only one who feels like they are an outlier here? I can wrap my head around the rest - some mix of impact (Outkast), new directions (Joy Division / New Order, Phish), and overall appeal of writing great music (Billy Idol etc…). I just don’t see where Bad Company fits in that.
They made great songs like Bad Company, Rock & Roll Fantasy, Moving On, etc.
The nomination got me to dig into their stuff a bit. I was honestly surprised - great songwriting and some interesting music.
Color me impressed.
