At Biden’s weak and worthless “press conference” on Thursday…he attempted to compare the illegals pouring into our country today to the “famine” Irish coming here 170 years ago. Here is where he was way off the mark:
In 1840 through 1850 when the Irish were immigrating to America:
They came with their fist closed to fight and make it on their own. They were vetted at Ellis Island…and quarantined if they had contagious infections. No hands stretched out for handouts. No handouts. There were NO handouts to give. You had to “sink or swim” to survive. No public assistance. This country didn’t have all the welfare and public agencies that burden the taxpayers of today. In 1840, the USA had only 17 million people. In 1850, there were only 23 million. Plenty of room to grow - if you were willing to work hard and sacrifice.
Today, illegals are pouring into our country across two thousand miles of southern borders. Unchecked. Not vetted for contagious diseases…or, for being criminals, etc. They are given food and shelter. They may even get a hotel room - now that Biden has contracted with hotels near the border - to the tune of $86 million! When they are released into the interior of this country: They will receive welfare, food stamps, free health care, and free education - all on the backs of struggling American taxpayers. They will add to the already near 20% poverty rate of the United States. Frightening crime…homeless encampments in our cities…rising taxes that American citizens have to deal with this all.
