I’m disappointed in the appointments so far. I was hoping Biden would appoint Hunter & his wife to the cabinet. Maybe have them spearhead middle east & eastern Europe reforms / treaties.
Also, all of these centric appointments are really going to make his trojan horse socialism push much more difficult. Clearly, Biden is playing chess and centrist democrats are playing checkers. All of Biden’s cabinet will be full throttled socialists after they are confirmed by the Senate.

Biden should get the cabinet he wants.
The candidates are qualified and anything less is just partisan posturing
So far, I like the choices. He is not picking politicians who endorsed him or who helped him during the election, he is picking career civil servants who are excellent at their jobs and have extensive experience in the fields he is placing them in. They know what they are doing.
It would have been nice to see Buttigieg get a nice position, and he still might get an ambassador job or something, but for vital roles in the Executive Branch Biden isn’t doling out favors, he is assembling a team that works well together and who knows what they are doing. He isn’t giving plum roles to Senators either, he is keeping them in place.
The only role I see that seems PR to me is appointing Kerry for climate change, granted he has a lot of experience here and will do the job well, but I imagine there are climate scientists who could do the job better.
He has stated he will, and if he doesn’t Jill will have his head.
I agree with this. I don’t understand the Kerry pick. Why do you feel Buttigieg deserves a position?
Tackling climate change will need global coordination and I think Kerry’s SOS experience makes him more fit than a formal scientist. Climate change isn’t a scientific issue anymore - that has been settled.
If Biden gets the cabinet he wants, what happens to the alliances?

I feel he is a talented person, very intelligent and currently out of work. I would make use of a person like that if I were the President, that’s all.
Strange how it seem that almost every time a minority or woman gets a high profile job or is elected, it’s always due to their race or gender according to those on the right.
Hard to fathom a non-white non-male having qualifications I guess.
Obama only won because he was black.
Kamala only got picked because she was a black woman.

A very fair point. His tenure as SoS will help him get us back into the Paris agreement and perhaps even negotiate future agreements.

And every time a minority or woman is not selected for a position, the left always asks “why couldn’t he or she pick a qualified minority or woman for that role?”
