Failing presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s personal guests to this week’s Democratic debates will be high school athletes benched for protesting the US National Anthem.

“When Democrat Beto O’Rourke takes the stage in the second round of presidential primary debates on Tuesday, three young black men from Michigan who were inspired by ex-NFL player Colin Kaepernick to kneel during the national anthem before their high school football games will be in the audience as guests of the former Texas congressman,” reports Market Watch.

“O’Rourke reached out to ex-Lansing Catholic High School football players Michael Lynn III, Matthew Abdullah and RoJe Williams and spoke with them by phone last week. Teammate Kabbalah Richards is away at college and unable to attend the debate but also was on the call,” confirms the article.

O’Rourke made national headlines last week after he compared President Trump’s ‘MAGA’ events to Nazi-style rallies.

“Do you think that President Trump is a racist?” asked ABC News.

“Yes, President Trump is a racist. What we saw in North Carolina last week was almost an impromptu Nuremberg rally; inciting hatred and violence against people based on the color of their skin, based on their religion,” said O’Rourke.

“It’s very clear the path that he is taking us on. We either willingly submit to that, or we stand up against it and stand for what we know this country can be. That’s what I’m trying to do,” he added.
