Aye Aye Oh Captain my captain.

I looked and I couldn’t find one. Not that I want one to be found.

Happy Trails!!!

If he’ll forgive my bar tab
my mortgage
my car loan and
my back taxes
I’ll vote for him

It is interesting (and educational) to watch how the government normally goes about construction projects.

Article reads in part

In September 2022, the LA City Council approved a new contract to build 3,000 new shelters and 450 new shade structures.
.
.
.
Kinda reminds me of the time the LA city gov’t turned a vacant lot with homeless tents into a vacant lot with homeless tents and spent only $44,000 each to construct each tent sent.

Or when NYC spent $2 million to build a small simple park bathroom

(Hey the National Park Service built a $1 million bathroom and everything’s more expensive in NYC so . . .)

As I remember Bush did a similar speech as Biden did. And the House voted unmistakably to fund the project. I don’t get what is different now with this situation.

Republicans are about to do what they do best

Probably didn’t come after two superhuge gigantic rounds of bailouts.

There were more bailouts in 2008 than you have fingers an toes.
then during COVID the number of bailouts was smaller but the total bill was many many times larger.

They are really wanting to not win that Senate seat that is up in Maryand

Don’t be taken in by the MSNBC and Huffington headlines. Even their highly biased articles say “some Republicans.”

True. There should be plenty money there to rebuild the bridge.

Agencies have hired nearly 5,500 feds to implement Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure law.

The Biden administration has surpassed its infrastructure law hiring goals, and plan to bring on another 1,000 personnel next year.

Yep. $2 billion is chump change to Congress.

Freedom caucus already plans to be useless.

What’s wrong with their proposed two prerequisites?

Did you read it?
Or go straight to poutrage?

I really like the last paragraph in your snip. The whole thing is good stewarding of my money.

I counted 4.

Get money from the company.
Use available funds.
Fully offset the cost.
That natgas thing.

All before they will consider funding.

I don’t believe that they believe they will get even one demand fulfilled before the 118th congress ends.

What do you not like about the four?

I don’t like that an essential infrastructure project depends on satisfying them.

But it is okay if it \

  • depends on satisfying Davis-Bacon (prevailing wages)
  • environmental impact studies?
  • depends on getting loaded up with pork etc.?

Are you okay to delay the bridge reconstruction for those things?
Because the GOP position is that bridge reconstruction should NOT be delayed for those things and that fact is right in the very document you posted.

I ask again, did you read it?
