Are you a communist and don't know it?

This is just maddening. When the HELL did government become dad to you folks? When do adult human beings get to make choices that impact their lives? Again, if I choose to go to a store that chooses to be open, the ONLY people at risk are those of us willing to do business together. Since the risk is extremely low, shutting down this economy by force is flat out fascism. . . and here we have reasonably intelligent people SUPPORTING that garbage. PATHETIC.

Very true. Most principles of fascism and communism line up pretty well. They are two sides of the same coin.

False dichotomy. The barber/ hairdresser also has a right to a life, and needs paying customers to make their living. The fearful do not have a right to sacrifice the hairdresser’s life to maintain his/her own fluttering pulse.

How do you feel about same sex marriage?

How do you feel about it?

No problem with it at all…

How do you feel about a farmer legally marrying a cow?

Thats not even worth responding to…

Guess you missed that part…

My opinion? It’s stupid. I’ve been quite clear on this from day 1. Why on earth is government telling people who can and can’t get married? Want to get married? I don’t care, just don’t try to force me to pay for it and don’t tell me my opinion has to be that it’s ok because I don’t think it is. We live in a free society though, I’m allowed my opinion and it CANNOT infringe on your right to do as you please, up to the point of where you cause me harm. Gay marriage doesn’t harm me so knock yourself out.

Good as long as you’re consistent …But when has a taxpayer had to pay for someone else’s wedding? I’m just picking nits with that part…

Then you share the opinion of most conservatives. We see it as non of our business. It doesn’t make our top 100 list of concerns.

Since when?

My problem goes to force. If I don’t want to bake you a cake, that should be my right. My stance is live and let live. I don’t get to tell you who you can marry, you don’t get to tell me I must provide a service that goes against what I believe.

I think the resistance (and it’s not just Conservatives, California voted not that long ago to prohibit gay marriage) comes from forcing society to change the definition of marriage. If the government wasn’t in the marriage business, no one would give a hoot. What caused the uproar is forcing companies to recognize gay marriage, forcing society as a whole to change the definition of marriage to include them. This is why I’ve argued to get the government out of marriage as long as I can remember.

Why don’t you do a poll and ask the question yourself? Why do you want conservatives to be opposed to gay marriage? What do you gain by that?

No doubt about it. Then the owner has to deal with the economic consequences when many stop using his business. Let the market decide.

He thinks he’s going to prove Conservatives want government involvement as well and at times, he’s correct. That said, I think there’s a big difference between the traditional conservative and a Constitutional conservative, which I consider myself to be. I think the tipping point for me was the Patriot Act. That showed me that Republican establishment critters are dolts as well. I’m just sick of big government no matter WHO pushes it.

It didn’t. My grandparents lived in Germany during the 30s and 40s, this ain’t fascism.

Except that’s not what’s being argued.
