Are you a communist and don't know it?

Some people are and either don’t know it or won’t admit it. Here is my short and sweet communism test. Ask yourself this.

  1. Do you believe that to promote fairness, salary structure, income level, housing and access to health care should be determined by the government? The government deciding how much of this each person should be allowed?

  2. Do you believe that far right, alternative or “radical” viewpoints should be restricted or silenced? Should the news be “fact checked” by government?

  3. Do you believe that all school curriculum should be driven primarily by the federal government?

  4. Do you believe that private firearm ownership should be made illegal? Incrementally, one step at a time?

  5. Does this thread anger you?

If you agree with 3 or more of these, you are not a democratic socialist (whatever that is). You are a friend of Karl’s.

Welcome to conservatism. :yum:

Of course you do. It should be silenced quickly. Right? :astonished:

  1. Do you believe that wealth and status should determine your access to health care or should the federal government provide healthcare for all? (Does anyone think that the government can keep rich folks from getting the best healthcare that their money can buy?)

  2. (Remember when it was the right that was going to suppress speech for everyone, says the old Weavers fan.)

  3. Do you believe that having a HS diploma should reflect a standardized level of competence across specific subjects? If so, who determines that level of competence and in what subjects. Should a HS diploma from one state mean the same thing as a HS diploma from another?

Too much effort.

Yes to all…do I get my Communist Party :star: card in the mail?

  3. Mixed bag here. I don’t want the Federal Government any more involved anywhere. Confine it to issues like national defense.

But I must wonder—why should someone who isn’t childless & wants to do an out of state move have to worry about quality of education where he’s going? Why should someone leaving a northeastern state, for instance, with a high schooler wonder if the student will be repeating lessons he learned in middle school in a southeastern state & be bored out of his mind?

Call before midnight and you get two for the price of one.

  1. I do believe there should be fairness in all these things and that the government has a role in ensuring it occurs. So, yes I suppose.

  2. No, the Right should have every opportunity to express their viewpoint. So, no.

  3. Schools, and home schooling, should meet certain standards regarding curriculum. Government can and should play a role in establish these standards. So, I guess that’s a yes.

  4. No

  5. Why would it?

Do you believe the fox, who wouldn’t help at all, has the right to eat the l’il red hen’s bread, just because he is alive and breathing? :sunglasses:

No. But I think mandating everyone getting the same wage, but be able to choose their line of work would be great. Then a large part of the reward of work would be the meaningful contribution one believes it makes to society rather than the pay. Essential work that has a shortage of workers could offer more until vacancies are filled.

Fairness in salary structure, income level, and housing? How do you propose they do that? Besides rent control and minimum wage, I don’t believe they do anything else. Honestly, I don’t even think our members in congress are smart enough to even try to tackle more. The Jets have a better chance at winning the super bowl two years in a row than any of this changing.

I understand what you’re saying but I disagree with you.
Anyone who answered “Yes” to your list could also be a Fascist.
There is very little difference between Communism and Fascism.

Communism advocates the state ownership of the means of production. No liberal politician advocates that.
Fascism advocates the private ownership of the means of production under state control. All liberals advocate this.

American Liberalism is Fascism . FDR modeled his New Deal after Mussolini’s Fascism. We’re still stuck with it.

Minimum wage, safe working conditions, sick leave; some rent controls, subsidized housing when necessary, safe and clean housing should be minimum requirements.

Other than sick leave that’s already in place. How much sick leave do you want to give? 5 days? That’s really not accomplishing anything. The problem is there are no jobs coming out of HS like there used to be back in the 70s and 80s. Minimum wage and sick leave can’t even remotely come close to making up for that.

While those certainly contemptible points of view, they do not define communist/communism.

Funny, I’m a Liberal and I don’t advocate this.

political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocraticgovernment headed by a dictatorialleader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Now does the majority of that definition remind you of anyone? Surely not any Liberal in Washington.
