AOC defends Student Debt Relief: “Not every program has to be for everybody"

Of course, one would expect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents the taxpayers living in New York’s 14th Congressional District, would represent the best interests of her constituents, which certainly is not in their interest to be taxed to finance the privileged who benefit from this “program”.

In case AOC is unaware, the vast majority of her constituents are blue collar workers, 50 % of which have no degree or are only high school educated, but AOC is just fine with this group of her constituents ultimately being taxed to pay off the college loans of those far richer and better educated then they are.

Let us not forget that AOC is in the privileged group who benefits from Biden’s redistribution of taxes paid by blue collar workers to the privileged who attended college.

And what is even more telling is, one of the very first things AOC promoted after being sent to Congress by the voters in NY’s 14th Congressional District was supporting a $4,500 pay increase for members of Congress [HER] even though she was already living large on her constituents dime with an annual salary of $174,000 and about another $110,000 in fringe benefits [retirement plans, top of the shelf medical, paid vacations, etc.] bringing her annual earnings up to about $285,000, while the average earnings of her constituents was under $60,000.

And now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to be re-elected so she can screw her constituents even more?

Why is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez comfortable with filling New York City’s scarce public housing with illegal aliens when America’s needy Citizens, including U.S. Military Veterans, are going homeless?

She gets away with so much trash talk.

Apparently she doesn’t even get away with stating the obvious.

Everybody is not eligible for WIC programs either.

And now that AOC has got blue-collar workers in her district to pay for some of the privileged student loans, she wants her blue-collar constituents to pay even more. See: AOC vows to keep pushing for more student-loan forgiveness, saying Biden’s relief ‘still leaves a question mark for those in the highest amounts of debt’

“It was YOUR pushing, YOUR pressure, YOUR organizing that got them to this point,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in an Instagram post, referring to Biden’s student-loan forgiveness. “It is up to us, and to you, to decide if we are going to stop here, or if we are going to keep pushing.”

I don’t think the 50% of AOC’s constituents who have no degree or are only high school educated pushed her to be taxed to pay for the college loan debt relief of a privileged group who is richer and better educated then they are.

The question is, will AOC’s constituents in NY’s District 14 reelect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez knowing what she is really doing to them?

You raise a good point about her consituents being mosty blue-collar taxpayers and footing the bill for rich kids who go to college.

But I think the more serioous attack on the interests of her consituents has to do with alowing the President to declare this policy by royal dictat without Congress.

Why do we even have a congress?
When the GOP wins the Whitehouse next time why not just allow the President to do everything by decree? Hmm there must be some reason for that.

Lol.

The mortgage deduction.

I benefit from it; others do not. Economists hate it, but it’s popular.

I appreciate the assistance the government gives me with my mortgage

So does the housing industry and real estate agents.

But we are not talking about the “mortgage deduction”, Medicare, Medicaid, or even VA benefits which are very clever deflections.

We are talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wanting to tax blue collar workers in her District to pay for her student loans. Keep in mind 50 % of her constituents have no degree or are only high school educated and earn under $ 60K a year while AOC earns, including benefits, about $285,000. But hey, AOC is just fine with taxing her constituents to pay off the college loans of those far richer and better educated then they are, and includes non-other than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America [SOURCE]

The most imortant thing to keep in mind here is that in every socialist country like Cuba, those in power always live large on the taxpayer’s dime, and that is what socialism is really about.

If not for Bidens?

“Not every program has to be for everybody”

This is what I am talking about. She’s right, just as the mortgage deduction is not “for everybody” (in addition to the fact that the mortgage doesn’t make a whole lot of macroeconomic sense).

Not a hard concept. Oh, and thanks to all of you who help me financially but get no tax benefit.

maybe we dont get a tax benefit, but the community as a whole benefits by people owning their houses. The higher the home ownership rate, the higher the tax basin and the better the community is including schools.

For all the people that complain about Trump, What is the difference between trumps dealings and yours if you want the govt to pay your student loans? Trump bailed on his responsibility to pay workers, and those with student loans are bailing on their responsibility to pay back their loans.

I know exactly what you are talking about and what AOC said, and what she said, in no way whatsoever, justifies her taxing her blue-collar constituents in District 14 to pay for a privileged class going to college, and especially being taxed to pay the college loans of those far richer than AOC’s blue-collar workers being so taxed.
