I think that one can argue that Disney’s cranking out of content for their two most valuable assets… Marvel and Star Wars… that continues to be mostly okay and not great has something to do with their bottom line.
It isn’t just Disney though… all of the streaming production services are caught up in the treadmill of continually cranking out content that at the end of the day is a disposable consumable as opposed to lasting culture.
That said… Andor is the best Star Wars in years.

Netflix just almost collapsed because of poor spending and inability to increase subscribers.
Wasn’t because of wokeness either.
With Disney its approach to the woke issues didn’t help that’s why at least in psrt it’s about the movement but not the way you guys keep saying there is.

You might be right, but their loses are primarily in streaming and everyone in streaming is losing $$ right now. The way it is playing out, is that the board knew about the finances when they renewed his contract 2 mos ago and that what is new is that too many shareholders revolted.
Entertainment leans left.

Chapek’s rep. is that he leans left
AND he uses the company as a war chest for his politcal causes.

That will profit Disney and hurt Florida in the long run, not the reverse.
Disney increased it’s subscriber base. It has been doing so year over year. There isn’t a rejection of their content.
Their content is very expensive to produce and expenses are outstripping revenue.
Disney isn’t like Amazon who right now treats it’s streaming side as a loss leader for the Amazon plus service.
That’s so two years ago. Lightyear, Turning Red, Encanto, Dr Strange…
Which is hysterical because it tested like ■■■■ , and so they didn’t promote it very much.

I’ll play this one time, knowing you’ll make up an excuse and that it’s a waste but…here’s just one;
Disney can CHOOSE to support parents or an agenda that’s goal is the sexualizing of our children. They went against the rights of parents.
LGBT activists and their allies – including Disney – were angry about HB 1557, which keeps teachers from inappropriately sexualizing children and mandates that schools tell parents if their children are struggling with physical, mental or emotional issues, such as internal conflicts about sexual identity.
