Hey, here’s a notion. Let’s try both.

1. Arm teachers
2. require background checks for private sales and increase age for sale.

One side says 1 will work, the other side says 2 will work, so let’s do both.

You left out the most important thing which is vastly increased funding for mental health.

Right. When you don’t know what the problem is, throw money at it. Works every time.

What ever we’re doing now isn’t working.
The old “thoughts and prayers” followed by a “guns aren’t the problem” argument isn’t working.

Someone has to have a solution. Let’s try the two majority approaches and see if that helps. If not, do something else.

But thoughts and prayers aren’t getting us anywhere.

A gun doesn’t discharge itself.

Nobody said they did. But that wasn’t the question. The question was, “What did the guns do?”

Of course, the guns needed operators in order to discharge. Had there not been someone to pull the triggers, there wouldn’t have been any “Gun incidents”.

Likewise, had there not been guns available, there wouldn’t be any “Gun incidents”.
Just people wiggling their fingers at each other.

But we choose to have guns. And we are the operators. So “Gun incidents” are inevitable.
We choose to have automobiles. And we are the operators. So traffic accidents are inevitable.

The deaths are the price we pay for each and the price isn’t prohibitively high.

Meh.

You used the phrase so it seems quite appropriate to ask you what you think it means.
