Another anti-vaxer dies

Bingo. :+1:

I will. It is a problem, although I don’t know “disinfo” is the right word.

Confirmation bias is being fed.

I wouldn’t say it’s the biggest problem and the door was left open for them.

The entire media apparatus in this country is garbage.

Depends. Do you like your family? Your wife and kids and parents? In that case, probably Honduras.

If you are a loner and can surf, CA.

So, we need to shut down all businesses, ban work, and people will not illegally cross the borders. Great solution! Not.

I’ve recently been listening to a local anti-vax radio guy on NJ 101.5. Morning guy. Forget his name. He is absolutely pushing 100% lies and disinformation. It’s really wild to listen to. Infuriating too. It’s way more than confirmation bias. He flat out lies.

How on earth do you et to there from here?

Holding companies who hire illegals =/= shutting down all businesses and banning work.

Easy. What does the statement, “If there were no jobs here, there would be no illegal migration,” mean.

Sorry - since we were discussing illegal immigration, I assumed you would realize I was talking about jobs for illegals.

Revised statement:

If there were no jobs available to illegal immigrants, there would be no illegal migration.

Are there presently laws against hiring illegals? Are there presently laws imposing a minimum wage? Are those not enforcing those laws being held to account? or is it being ignored in the same way as Biden not enforcing immigration law?

Yes there are laws. Yes, it is largely ignored.

Take all the money spent on the wall, hire more ICE officers to investigate companies breaking those laws and fine them considerably.

Illegal immigration will dry up.

Are you suggesting the problem would be solved with no wall, but with only hitting illegal hiring?

At this point - meaning we already have a ton of physical barriers, (in fact, years ago, we have funding for more walls, and the states and ICE decided they didn’t need any more walls or fences, and they stopped building.) So yes, right now, the emphasis should be on what is attracting people here. And the answer to that is jobs.

Of course, as with most things, it’s not quite that simple, but generally, yes, focus on that.

Just as building a wall was never expected to solve the illegal immigration problem 100%, since most illegals don’t cross the southern border through open country.

Hold employers responsible would probably not solve illegal aliens being present, but it would have a larger impact than building a wall.

I agree. Do both. Cheaper than what no wall is costing the US at present.

We have a large amount of wall already.

When your government is welcoming people through the holes and releasing then into the interior, there is effectively no wall.

Demand for cheap labor AND allowing them to enter the US illegally by dropping enforcement agreements the previous administration had with Mexico are both the root of the problem.

It took watching my son die and me suffering the effects of Covid for us to realise we need the vaccine,” she told The Washington Post in a recent interview. “We did not get vaccinated when we had the opportunity and regret that so much now.”

Not a nice try.

Don’t listen to “Guy”.
