Getting the embassy staff out seems like the best idea at this time. Let all those busy body and CIA front NGOs fend for themselves. Haiti is only a threat to the DR as they share the island and could spread their violence there. There is no US national or commercial interest in Haiti of note.

That place has been a â â â â hole since the 1750s. Even when it was the most lucrative piece of real estate in the world it was a â â â â hole.

Thatâs interesting and all, but most of those are removing non essential personnel from embassies because of security concerns in the country. Being proactive in case things deteriorate. Some would call that smart. Are you actually upset that in cases like Burma they moved non essential personnel out of the country just in case? Are you actually upset at the partial evacuation of non essential employees just in case? Letâs go case by caseâŚwhich ones are you upset about?
