The French left in 1804. Haiti was a ■■■■ hole then and has remained so ever since, even when the US occupied it. Who sits in the Whitehouse has little to nothing to do with it.

Haiti has a long history of US invasions and occupations, and the US has links to drug trafficking, corruption, coups, and assassinations in Haiti. Haiti’s problems are not just the result of bad luck or cultural differences.
