And a shout out to Judge Pauline Newman

While researching the other thread, found that United States Circuit Judge Pauline Newman has set a record, namely the oldest federal judge in active status. Giles Rich was the previous record holder, dying in active status at age 95 in 1999. Judge Newman surpassed his record in June 30th, 2022. She is currently 95 years old. She serves on the Federal Circuit.

Her reason for staying in active status, rather than assuming senior status, is to maintain eligibility to participate in en banc proceedings. My legislation proposed in the other thread would eliminate this reason to remain in active status to such a ridiculous age.
