Trump proposed in 2022 an idea that he would implement as soon as he got into office: an American State Fair, celebrating America’s 250th birthday. This would be not just one day of festivities, Trump said, but a year long of fun, games, and entertainment. There would be paraphenalia from all 50 states.
First, though, he would have to appoint someone who could coordinate with all 50 states to make this happen. It would take place at the Iowa state fairgrounds.
In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum; formally referred to as the Flavian Amphitheater; with 100 days of games, consisting of gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
Didn’t his aide de campe surrender it since Cornwallis wouldn’t talk to Washington or Lafayette directly? I think that’s how it went. Cornwallis was very offended that he lost to a bunch of uncouth colonials and some smelly Frenchmen.
