Agree.

Any country including the US will ally with another country as long as it serves their interest. And absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Any country’s political leaders might choose to ally with another country’s political leaders if it serves their own personal interests. There is a lot wrong with that.

Countries, land masses and economies can’t talk or think. You are mistaking a figure of speech for something literal. It is the political leaders of countries who are making alliances, not the countries themselves

Meanwhile, US citizen kids can’t read or do math, mental illness and drug addiction are rampant. Vets are living on cardboard boxes in the street.

The US military is a shamble and a shell-completely combat ineffective and more so every day.

Inflation is choking the life out of the people-who are spending savings to get by. Creating another generation who will have to die in the workplace. That blocks upward mobility for the younger people.

While we import millions of impoverished dependents. And the associated criminality.

The United States is failed and failing. A police state on the verge of losing any semblance of order.

Your post is completely rational. Unfortunately the media, with help and cajoling from the swamp, have made it “racist” or something similarly stupid to be in the “America First” camp. I’m very proud of Thomas Massie’s stance:

Yes of course the politicians decide on the best interests of a country. I thought that was obvious.

There’s a lot of talk about “US closest ally in this or that area.”

Right now, “Israel is the closest US ally in the ME!” is plastered everywhere.

What makes an ally? Or a good ally?

Seems to me we have “good allies” when the US foots the bill for them (to the detriment of US citizens).

Is Ukraine a US ally? Why?

Is Afghanistan a US ally? How?

When the poo-poo of this world hits your fan, you look to the left or right and see who is standing along side you. That’s an ally.

Maybe…but if that were true, they wouldn’t be what I’m defining as an ally? Israel exists today due to the US. The US was formed as a Christian nation that believes Jesus was a Jew. Today, all of this is being attacked by many sources both internal and external and the religious makeup of the US is changing. As time goes on, “we” are evolving into something else and IMO this something else, is not strong enough to maintain this country as the strongest in the world. As this happens, the friendship with Israel or as an “ally” is adversely on the decline.
