After appeals court win, Andrew Warren asks court to hurry up

The Eleventh Circuit is correct here and the on remand the District Court should speedily return Andrew Warren to office.

While I do not personally support Mr. Warren, he is the duly elected District Attorney in Hillsborough County and Governor DeSantis suspended him from office on his mere words, not actions, which was an abuse of power by DeSantis. It should be a much higher bar for the Governor to remove an elected official and the 11th Circuit agreed.

The District Court agreed as well, but reached the incorrect conclusion they lacked the power to restore Warren to office, which the 11th Circuit has found not to be correct.

The people of Hillsborough County elected Mr. Warren, just as the voters of Florida elected DeSantis. BOTH elections should be respected.

If Mr. Warren actually takes action in violation of his oath of office, not just making statements, then removal could be warranted. But the Florida Constitution needs amending to give a suspended official a prompt hearing and a route back to office if the suspension was for improper reasons.
