The lefties always like to call themselves “progressives “ although for the world I cannot understand why. Socialism has been tried and tried and failed every time. As has the natural derivative from socialism, communism. Both failures on the trash heap of history. It occurred to me that these people should not be called “progressives” but instead adopt the moniker of perpetuals.
Perpetually predicting doom - earth is always “in danger of man”
Perpetually sniveling - self explanatory
Perpetually wrong - kinda what happens when you build a philosophy upon lies
So everyone please join me in promoting this new and more accurate moniker.
After all if the perpetuals can change the word “gay” from meaning happy to meaning homosexual I am sure they would have no problem with using this more accurate verbiage.
Progressive was coined to allow a sense of goodness without actually explaining what that “goodness” actually looked like. It is making a generality, leaving the individual to fill in the specifics in their own mind. It’s like “Hope and Change.” Don’t define what is being hoped for, or the change to be made, and definitely don’t clearly articulate the means to be used to achieve that change. The unstated realities are the same, “Progress towards what?,” to be achieved by “what means?”
Marx and Engels wrote it down, but it doesn’t look good in reality and their modern day worshipers do everything they can to obscure their connection to that deity.
The same can be said of the right. They are always the victim, there is always a secret plot to undermine them or some nefarious invisible organization.
Anytime someone contradicts Trump they are a radical left wing agitator.
As for predictions of doom, have you seen the news. Apparently we are “days away” (again) from a nuclear Iran and the armageddon that follows that.
As someone who is on the left here, I am always happy and upbeat. Like most people Politics does not rule my life.
The Nordic countries say hello. They consistenlty rank the best places to live, even with crappy weather. Of ocurse they are not actual socislist countries.
There are so many examples of countries embracing capitalism yet still understand the need for policies or systems that many here consider socialist. And these countries are successful. The people there live their lives the same as we do.
