Not to use doing so as a part of an over aggressive illegal immigration policy to try to deter people coming to America illegally across our borders.
We arenât going anywhere. And we are about to overtake the House.

You are talking about a difference in magnitude. I answered a binary statement you made: âno other american president has separated kids.â Obama did that. Yes he did.
The only reason he didnât do it AS MUCH AS Trump is because Trump isnât willing to ignore existing law on this. The law says if you catch illegals, certain procedures must be followed. Obama just released a lot and ignored the law in those cases.
But Obama DID do it in some cases, which makes your statement incorrect.
PS: This isnât âTrumpâs policy.â Itâs the law â and that law was in place before Trump was ever president, or even declared his candidacy for this term. (Unless you are willing to agree that Trump is following existing law, and Obama was willing to ignore it. And now following the law is some new idea or policy.)
Absolute â â â â â â â â â Otherwise he wouldnât have reversed his policy. Itâs not necessary at all, and it wasnât s policy before Trump, or else there wouldnât have been a memo on April 6, 2018 to implement the policy.
In outlier cases where kids were suspected to be harmed if they werenât separated. The kids best interests were the driving factor. There were very few cases of this happening and it wasnât a policy to criminally prosecute every case of illegal entry which resulted in over 2500 children being separated in a matter of weeks which was meant to instill fear and act as a deterrent. It was reprehensible and itâs absolute â â â â â â â â to try and establish a false equivalency.

There is no law that requires that we criminally prosecute every case of illegal entry. Itâs called prosecutorial discretion. Quit making things up.

Simple alternative to avoid child separation: process and implement ATDs (alternative to detention) for all those caught for illegal entry if they donât qualify for immediate deportation. Itâs cheaper and infinitely more humane.

Separating kids from adults is not done only for prosecutorial reasons.
When adult-A asserts, âThatâs my kid,â we have no way of knowing if itâs true. We absolutely have had cases where adults grab some unaccompanied minor and claimed parenthood. We have had cases where traffickers have claimed that the kids with them are their own.
And to be blunt, I really do not care if it raises fears in actual parents who try to smuggle their kids into the country with them. to me, thatâs a specious argument. And warped.

Literally every single thing the GOP/conservative (save some people)bashed and blamed or accused Obama for doing the pat 8 years have been excused, nay praised and defended when Trump has done it. The farmer bailout is just another perfect example.
Obama is a thin skinned narcissistic manchild. Obama attacks the press(fox) because he doesnât like their narrative. Obama is spending millions on vacation trips around the world. Obama hired criminals and grifters in His cabinet. Obama is acting like a dictator with executive orders. Obama is rude, crude, and used curswords. Obama spit in our closest allies faces. Obama is racial deviding the nation on purpose. Obama is apologizing to the world. Obama used the office to enrich himself.
