After 500+ days in office. Trump has done a great deal. I am not saying it is good or bad. What I want to know if he was a Democrat and still our President, would you as a Trump supporter still be singing his praises. Would you defend his stance on separating children from their parents. Would you defend his bending over Putin’s knee. Would you defend his womanizing ways that have in and of itself caused so much controversy. Would you be defending his belittling of the justice department and the FBI the way he has.
Would you be as strong a Trump Supporter if he were the democrat party president? well would you?
As long as Trump keeps addressing the illegal immigration problem that NO other politician from either side has EVER done for DECADES…I’ll tend to be less harsh with my criticism.
I would be praising anything that moves the country in the right direction.
I don’t like it now. It’s a necessary process to handle illegal immigrants, but I don’t like it. I didn’t like finding out that it was policy even before Trump was president, but I understand why it had (and has) to happen.

I didn’t defend it even before he was president. Even before he announced his candidacy. I don’t defend it in ANY man. The notion that any Trump supporter defends it is just another example of unhinged liberal polemics.
I see the same faults in the FBI and justice department that he does. I don’t agree with (nor defend) the tenor of Trump’s language in making his points about it though.
So you like the fact that no other american president has separated kids from their parents and deported 450 parents while their children remained in our detention centers?
These same people castigated Obama for bailing out the auto industry after a financial meltdown that Obama had nothing to do with. Yet here they praise a 12B bailout of farmers because of tariffs trump himself initiated.
if you are expecting honesty, patriotism, and some kind of morality from people who have spent years proving these are qualities they care nothing about, you are in for some disappointment.

To be blunt, had Obama nominated a SCOTUS judge akin to Kennedy when he picked Kagen and Sotomayer, I would have applauded it.

This is inaccurate — there was no widespread Obama-era policy of separating parents and children — but it’s a common talking point for Republican commentators and members of the president’s administration. Trump’s policy, now temporarily halted, aimed to prosecute every single illegal border crossing, including asylum-seekers. The government separated children from their parents or legal guardians because the adults had been referred for prosecution for illegal entry into the United States.
