Violent crime is down 40% in the US since pee Jesus, and the entirety of the world’s knowledge is available via the supercomputer in my pocket. The US poverty rate is about the same even as the world has caught up.
Conflict deaths across the world trend down; life spans are up. Illiteracy is down.
The world is a substantially a better place today than 33 years ago.
