85 Chinese counterfeit Guitars seized at Dulles

Go away China --crooks. Lowlifes. Go counterfeit some Pipas

Sour note: 85 counterfeit guitars seized during customs bust at Dulles | WTOP

The money valuations in the story are WAY off were these real, they would be worth far more than the story says,

China has a very dark history as well—from ancient times to pre-commie and commie, for 1000’s of years, had despicable eras even involving widespread cannibalism and surreptitious inn sales of human meat said to be pork. Horrendous , Savage religious persecution, bloody civil wars every generation. vicious politics, corruption, murder and patricide, matricide. Totalitarian for centuries, opium junkies And giant ugly thieves.

The good side with a beautiful cult\ure was crushed time and time again.

you are one of the aware ones

Top notch reference.

I don’t see how whoever eventually sold them could get away with it. They come with serial numbers and to get warranty coverage you register them with the manufacturer using that number. So they would have to be sold anonymously.

Not at all a fan of the CCP.

But is the world really coming to an end over counterfeit guitars?

Someone say it was? Missed it.

Got my first real three string

Chinese thievery has a long history.

The main guitar companies are a USA/west tradition.

Most guitar aficionados can detect fake guitars.

People can buy fake guitars online for $150.00, that would sell for $5000.00 plus if real. Using the company names, ie., Gibson and Fender, etc as if they are real is criminal. It is one thing to copy a design, it is a particularly evil thing to try to pass it off is real and fake a brand.

The most common scam is to fake a 1959 Les Paul guitar, that if real vintage could command a half a million or so.

Unfortunately, you can find even Americans, greedy enough to try to pass off a guitar as vintage when it’s just fraud.

Fraud is a very base, evil act, going beyond just guitars, but guitars are particularly American and sacrosanct to a lot of Americans.

If an American buys a $150.00 imitation for their own use because they can’t afford a real one, that is not bad in itself but feeding China corruption is stupid.

Passing off a fake as Vintage is the worst guitar crime.

This one is probably real.

At least it had an owners list.

Here’s one I saw @ Gruhn Guitars in Nashville

A good word for these fraudsters is “mercenary”

It’s counterfeit everything. Guitars are but one example of this job stealing crime.
