In June 2019 the Frontier Centre apologized for publishing, on its website and in letters, “untrue and disparaging accusations which impugned the character of Dr. Mann”. It said that Mann had "graciously accepted our apology and retraction

Up until then Mann had been able to bully publishers into submission with threats of litigation.
Isn’t part of the “scientific method” supposed to include having others try and disprove your theory?
Why wouldn’t he release his data and calculations in order to win his lawsuit, if doing so also would solidify his theory as correct?
One of the major premises of the scientific method is to try and disprove your own hypothesis/theory.
