Thanks, as I suspected, President elect here like in Australia Prime Minister-designate is essentially symbolic as well.
That is probably why Biden now often has a cheesy banner behind him when he speaks that reads
“Office of the President Elect”
Go figure how it is still not illegal for most anyone to be projecting victory and even utilizing made up fictitious titles like president elect prematurely.
There is tape of Biden with Wallace promising the American people he would wait until results were “certified” to declare victory.
At least with cigarettes the U.S. Surgeon General requires manufacturers to insert a legal disclaimer on each package so that consumers are forewarned of the risks inhaling tobacco may cause.
And world leaders will most certainly be calling and working closely with Trump when election results become official.
What I said was that no such position of Prime Minister is mentioned in the Australian constitution. The concept of elect does not come into it. No-one in Australia has any doubt who the Prime Minister will be after the result of an election is known. Further when the ABC (Australia political expert, Antony Green, calls the election it is accepted.
Gee, we should have have put government in charge of fact checking, it would be something for Trump to do on the golf course. You’d be ok with that right?
I imagine any candidate running for Prime Minister down under is well within their legal rights to contest an election result not to their liking so long as its challenge rationale is prescribed by the Australian constitution.
Trump always said the entire process would be being watched for voter irregularities. Problems were forecast due to Dem rule changes. Of course they were watching. Everyone was well warned beforehand.
