$12 billion in welfare for farmers on the way

You don’t get or don’t want to get that a much better trade policy with other countries will come out of this.

Why is there a “but”?

Clearly state you think this tariff has hurt Americans.

Maybe in 2020, these same farmers will vote this Idiot out of office, since Trump seems to have put the jobs of Americans in jeopardy.

Nope… they should suffer… they voted for exactly what he is doing right now.

They asked for it. Cheered for it. Went to rallies for it.

This is theirs.

Now they want to be shielded from the consequences of their choices. Party of Personal Responsibility indeed.

That’s a huge assumption to make. Trump is to the left of Obama on tariffs. Even he never thought of doing such a thing.

Yeah if it wasn’t Trump doing this, the Bernie crowd would be ecstatic.

Why would you think that?

They don’t have elections to worry about and their government is working to open new markets while we fight with every single one of our long term trade partners.

12 billion to farms but please tell me how people on section 8 are bankrupting the system

They voted for Trump these are the consequences of their own actions.

Yeah, after all that pressure from those Chinese voters/lobbyists.

lol.

No more huge than your assumption that the tariffs are permanent.

Just to be clear, you are okay with Americans potentially losing their jobs because the President wants to appear like a tough guy? And you are okay with the government bailing out people? I’m sure when Obama did it, you called for his impeachment.

And that’s all it is… a guess. What if they don’t? Who else thinks China is going to quickly cave? I sure don’t.

And it’s not just China but other countries involved to.

$1trillion deficits and we are making handouts ?

They won’t be permanent. Trump will eventually see the political damage they are creating and cave. All without getting anything in return.

If Congress would get off their butts and pass a bill giving them the authority regarding tariffs this crap could be ended immediately. But they are too afraid to do so.

Meanwhile, socialist bailouts is the new conservatism.

Obama did limited tariffs on specific items. Those things happen and then the two countries went to the WTO to argue their cases and usually try to settle differences.

That’s what you are hoping for instead of success.

The loss of billions dollars for China isn’t something they will simply do nothing about. There is real short term pain for both parties.

So who will blink first.

That was my assumption as well, but not sure anymore. I think more bailouts like this are far more likely.

After all if Trump was to cave, then it would be an admission he was wrong when he said tariffs were great and “easy to win”. and we all know how Trump cannot ever, EVER admit he was wrong about something.

Financial pain. Geeze!
