I’m seeing this all over the right-wing blogosphere.

Calls for March 1 End the Lockdowns rallies and “drop the masks and encourage businesses to defy the rules” calls.

I knew this thread didn’t just happen in isolation. I knew something had to be up in the blogopshere.

I was correct…again.

Once again The Party of Independent Thinkers marches in lockstep because of things they saw on social media.

I think I will stick with masks where mandated now, even though I am fully vaccinated, And in the future, I will wear a mask in crowded tight spaces- I am thinking specifically of airplanes and Broadway theaters, but I am sure there will be other applications.

Why? I have not had a sniffle, sore throat or cough in a year. I like it that way.

No once again you give yourself too much credit. You had a theory and searched and searched the internet until you found something that in your mind validated your perception. But like standard practice you pat yourself on the back and run providing no evidence.

Even if you are vaccinated, it is possible to have and transmit the virus to others.

If you do not wear a mask in public you are putting OTHERS at risk.

Wife’s practice had exposure, three hospitalizations, and a death - probably because of a hoaxer tourist.

They went a year incident-free, until belligerent patients who are ‘sick of this ■■■■■ started going off the rails.

Yeah, that ■■■■ pisses me off the most. I don’t get mad at the patients (even the violent ones) with mental illnesses that don’t know any better. That’s our job.
Most of em do know better. And if I sound harsh, it’s because of patients I meet who did everything right and are totally ■■■■■■ by this pandemic. Like the college aged kid on his second hospitalization (covid positive for an entire month) from the illness who told me his mother wasn’t going to make it and his grandmother had already passed.

Well it’s the left in my family who won’t abide health guidelines, not the right. I follow them, my liberal wife and daughters do not.

Masks prevent TRANSMISSION as well as RECEPTION.

If you oculd possibly pass the virus on to someone, you need to wear a mask.

Given that the vaccines don’t prevent infection it is still possible to carry the virus and pass it on to others. And given that there are mutant strains of Covid, having recovered form covid does not make you imune to the varietns. Therefore even those people could get re-infected and pass on the virus.

So as of now, everyone needs to wear a mask - to protect your neighbors as much as yourself.

Hopefully we will get new data on the vaccines and tells us it is unlikley that you can pass the virus on, but that data is not here yet.

Dying of covid won’t help your community in any way, so please wear a mask and encourage others to as well.

Herd immunity is coming from the vaccine. We will get there.

When did Lock downs/ House Arrests ever occur in the United States? When was there ever a lock down. Even when my office was shut down, I was never on lock down. I could go to the grocery store. I went places. I was free to leave my home. No one was ever under house arrest.

This seems like a narrative you have to exploit in order to jump it back 5 steps and say I’m not gonna wear my mask because we’ve already been forced into LOCKDOWN and been UNDER HOUSE ARREST.

Finally, you think it is better to expose everyone to the virus naturally to reach herd immunity. We’ve already lost over a half a million people. WHat you are actually talking about is NATURAL SELECTION…which is a pretty harsh way of reaching herd immunity and ending the pandemic. I am sure all the elderly and all those with serious underlying medical issues applaud your lunacy.
