Oh BS, his entire premise is based on the supposed moral imperative under the supposed “social contract” dem’s dreamed up for three decades and keep trying to ram down our throats.
He’s a damned hypocrite.
And permanently viewing the world through the prism of race while wearing partisan blinders.
Brilliant retort, one of your best works ever.
I guess the question is why does Bernie need to be forced to pay the higher tax burden that he himself is proposing everyone else pay? If it’s the right thing to do then he should be leading by example. He needs higher tax brackets to pass in order for him to do the right thing? That doesn’t make any sense.

So as we suspected … you have nothing. I’m glad we finally got past that one.

Is that what you think I said? Amazing.
Sanders is barely a Democrat and the idea of taxing the rich more in order to help the poor is much older than 30 years.
You have failed to prove this.
Why did you bring up race?
Because one of the main reasons many of the left believe its better to tax the wealthy to help the poor vs depending on voluntary contributions is that the latter isn’t able to handle the scale needed to make any effective difference.
It’s like calling Trump a hypocrite because he supports building a border wall but he didn’t go purchase a plot of land in Texas and build a few yards of the wall with his own money.
So it’s pointless to donate? Might as well never donate since it won’t make any effective difference. I see.
Lol… I never claimed I had something. I only claimed they aren’t doing what John accused them of doing.
I don’t care what you said and I don’t feel like playing Samm-whisperer. You can clarify if you want, but otherwise we can just move on.
It makes a difference to those who you donate to… it just doesn’t do much on a country wide scale, which is Sanders’ goal.
Every little bit helps. Who knows? Maybe people will follow his lead. Why would anyone need to be forced to comply with their own recommendation? That sounds bizarre. Global warming is an issue people lead by example. They do things and buy things that they believe mitigates GW. They then want legislation passed to encourage or compel others to do so. Not Bernie. I’m keeping my money until something passes.
There are plenty of rich people who give to charity including Sanders, so really the complaint being fielded here is that he’s not giving enough. Sanders is not going to be the tipping point in getting rich people across America to suddenly start giving more in charity.
I get your point. I’m just always a bit cautious of those looking to use someone else’s money to further their goals. And I’m not your common conservative here. I am pro choice and pro union. But I find myself siding with republicans here far more often.

Charity is tax deductible.
Which is a reasonable take… but most of the lawmakers are rich, so assuming they don’t cheat, they are also paying into this pool to be able used towards helping the poor. And if they are cheating, that needs to be called out and stopped.
