Yellow flag flies...New NFL penalty being discussed by owners

i wouldnt … just imagine 3 people on the sidelines while the rest of the team is in the locker room… they will complain about that also

good compromise. If you want to go out and stand for the anthem, have at it.

If you want to protest in the locker room, have at it.

Next the fake assed conservatives will whine that the players aren’t singing along…

That’s right. People are protesting by not coming to watch a bunch of squatters. Hopefully their voice will be heard through lack of revenue and this silly kneeling will come to an end

dont have to worry about people kneeling at the anthem anymore.

They will just be sitting it out in the locker room.

Why not just get rid of the entire jingoist ritual?

Cuz the league gets a nice government check for it.

You understand that the fake ass conservatives are choosing not to support the NFL because of the kneeling, right? The NFL has adopted this policy to stop the blood loss.

So your beef with cons is that they won’t subside the NFL because their actions run contrary to their beliefs. Let’s see if this brings back patrons.

Next up, taxpayer dollars going’s to planned parenthood.

means cash to the NFL and cash is king…

so now they will kneel in the locker room out of sight.

Protests dont end just because you are prohibiting them.

How much…?

In 2015, Arizona Sens. Jeff Flake (R) and John McCain (R) revealed in a joint oversight report that nearly $5.4 million in taxpayer dollars had been paid out to 14 NFL teams between 2011 and 2014 to honor service members and put on elaborate, “patriotic salutes” to the military. Overall, they reported, “these displays of paid patriotism [were] included within the $6.8 million that the Department of Defense (DOD) [had] spent on sports marketing contracts since fiscal year 2012.”

Their protests will be carried out in a venue other than their employer’s platform, the way it should have been from the start.

I thought I read $3 million…could be wrong. It was instituted to promote patriotism.

Correction

The report found the Department of Defense had spent $6.8 million on what they called “paid patriotism” between 2012 and 2015. This money was spread out among 50 pro teams from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, MLS and others.

During the height of the Viet Nam anti-war protest, even some movie theaters played the national anthem. It didn’t last long.

The NFL has played it since WWII. It was mandated that the players be on the field in 2009. The mandate has simply gone away.

nothing like forcing a phony display of patriotism

the NFL can go to hell

Promoting and forcing are not the same thing.

No one is forcing anything at this point. Haven’t you heard? The anthem haters can go back to mulling around in the locker room while the patriotic Americans can cover their hearts and sing in the stands or on the sidelines. It’s 2008, the mandatory field presence has been resended. Win/win.
