Does “corrupt intent” need to be present for obstruction of justice?
Of just pissed off and trying to get an investigation discontinued?
Yep. If the person is in the chain of command, and believes the investigation is ill founded, unfair, and should be discontinued, then that should be sufficient justification for his using his influence. Now, can you think of another case where that principle might be applied? I can.
