Did you read the article, they didn’t hack the coins directly, they used ransomware to extort them. That’s like saying your money in a conventional bank isn’t secure because you paid ransomware extortion with your conventional dollars.

Well lets take Mt Gox as an example, it wasn’t the tech, it was their incompetence. Otherwise the hackers would have nailed everyone.

It can never be the technologies fault since all technology requires implementation. There’s vulnerabilities everywhere.

Claiming blockchain is more secure just doesn’t stand to scrutiny as long as these things keep happening.

They didn’t hack in and steal existing bit coins, it’s more akin to a dupe exploit in an mmo. If you aren’t familiar with it I can explain further but to put it shortly they lagged them out with dos attacks and used that delay to redeem existing coins multiple times.

Blockchain doesn’t protect anonymity. It actually publicizes activity in a public ledger able to be scraped.
