The articles I’ve seen on it don’t say. The reports are just concerned about offense.

Some sailors got kicked out. Article says that the guy who was in charge lost his job. But I didn’t pick up anything about the results of the mission. (Or if there was any particular mission under way.)

But not an option for members of the military…

Somehow civilians are supposed to be more disciplined and have more accountability than membera of the military…

And pointing out such hypocrisy is considered trolling…

If anything, it does provide further evidence that those that refuse to acknowledge this duplicity should not be taken seriously…

Doesn’t matter the situation put men and women together and sex will happen. Heck look at prisons, many men in prison will have a gay relationship even if they are not gay.

The need for sexual contact is hardwired into our very DNA and its ridiculous to expect humans to deny that.

Any place I’ve ever been a new hire, the sexual harassment policy was clearly explained. Matter of fact, since the United States Armed Forces are a government employer, having worked myself for the V A, the policy regarding conduct that can be construed as sexual was so emphasized that a particular benefit that would have been of use—public transit vouchers—was not mentioned in the New Hire Orientation.

IMO A majority of men & women in the workplace don’t conduct themselves in such a manner. And the small percentage who do probably would lack that sense of boundaries regardless of the culture.

Yes, they are all grown ups. That is the problem. Sex is what grown up do.

A submarine is not just “a work place” it is a very confined space with a high density of people (much higher than in a typical office) where the crew works, lives, socializes, recreates, bathes, and sleeps in very close proximity to each other with very little privacy with no breaks for months on end. To expect young healthy males and females at the height of their hormonal years to act and behave like they are working 9-5 in a formal office setting is unrealistic at best.

Not really surprising.

Every straight guy makes a do-ability evaluation on every woman he meets within the first ten seconds. Doesn’t mean they’ll ever try and act on it but every woman is lumped into some variation of the do-able, do-able if drunk or desperate, and no way category.

They should be smarter than actually keeping a written log of it though.
