He went to A-stan on his own? That’s unusual.

Interesting the link in the original post is out of Boston. In my little behind the scenes role in health care, I often see billing for tests like this one:

Fast Facts About Cystic Fibrosis.

on ALL pregnant patients. Note Caucasians are more likely to carry this genetic defect than members of other racial groups.

This is just one example. Here are diabetes statistics , diabetes being a risk factor for heart disease:

https://www.cms.gov/About-CMS/Agency-Information/OMH/research-and-data/information-products/data-highlights/disparities-in-diabetes-prevalence

Cervical cancer deaths have decreased since Papanicolou (Pap) testing, yet Asian descended are most prone and still dying from virally caused cancer, including cervical:

Opportunities and Challenges in Precision Medicine: Improving Cancer Prevention and Treatment for Asian Americans - PMC.

The two I knew to die from this cancer were from Laos & Vietnam. Acknowledging that not all peoples are equal in risk and outcome from disease actually makes sense.

Here is another risk factor more likely to plague non college educated black and Latino folk that leads to overall poorer health:

Adult Obesity Facts | Overweight & Obesity | CDC.

Attitudes towards body size tend to vary by race, ethnicity. Black women I’ve known tend to feel more comfortable with their physiques at higher weights than white women.

While black and Latino peoples may not encourage weight gain, they don’t seem to have as much a hang up about it—whether in themselves or in a partner—as white non Hispanic Americans.

That’s a fact. I even have a few old blues songs in my music collection celebrating it lol.

I remember hearing a song about it from I’m not sure which artist, sounded like hip hop:

“I like the women with the big big booties…”

The irony is the song was being used in an aerobics class in a gym.

Here’s yet another cardiovascular disease behavior more prevalent among minority Americans:

It is about time these patients get to cardiology for their care.

American Indians/Alaska Natives are way high, holy cow.

There are many, many, many examples with in the medical community of altruism still but what I said is very accurate. It’s a phenomenon that has been developing over the last couple of decades, steadily moving the direction i said and your examples do not change that truth.

When you’re checking in at the front desk and they ask you for your insurance information, that individual is satisfied that they’ll be paid tomorrow for the services rendered today.

What insurances do that?

Which ones cover other than preventative care at 100%?

As pointed out in a previous link, there are higher out of pocket costs since the “Affordable” Care Act.

The only services I know to be covered at 100% are screening mammograms and colonoscopies, complete physiccals and routine eye exams.

No…he went to support an area that needed a doctor for the troops
He was a army medic in his 20’s, which inspired him to be a doctor.

He went back in the reserve about a year ago, He is 50 now. Now has the rank of Colonel. The Army sent him.

You would like him, he has quite the arsenal.

“What non white group is doing better economically than whites?”

Not always:

You said the medical community, only sees green.

That paints all of them as greedy. Again, those in the trenches work their asses off, and get compensated well, but not rich by any means.

The executives in some of the hospitals, and the insurance companies, are part of the problem for high medical costs.

What do you suggest to correct it?

The Army paid for medical school?

I don’t like arsenals.

No, the Army did not pay.

They would have.

This was 25 years ago. Army probably helped…but I know parents put out a good amount of money for his education.

Not really an example of altruism though, is it?

I never mentioned anything about altruism.

You implied it.

You have a vivid imagination.

I said they are compensated well That is kind of the opposite of being altruistic.
