You are assuming the correlation implies causation. It doesn’t. McCain promised to repeal Obamacare on the stumps. He didn’t even try. If Sinema promised to defend Obamacare on the stumps, she is authorised by the electorste to do so. But Obamacare may not have been the issue that drove voters to vote for her. You can’t assume voters position on a specific issue by whom they voted for on a smorgasbord of issues. You would need a referendum on the issue itself to determine that.
