The bottom line question is this: If we have the exact same plan as congress has, why are they trying to push us on to Medicare? Why are they tinkering with it at all?

You two seem confused. Congress, via the ACA, has a multitude of plans to choose from. Not every congressman has the same plan. They choose their plan. So asking why we can’t have the same plan as congresspeople doesn’t make a lot of sense since there is no one plan.

Perhaps you should read more carefully. They purchase their insurance plan from the same ACA marketplace as the public. If you wanted, you could buy the same insurance plan as them. And each congressperson buys different plans, it is not one plan for all of them. Been this way since 2014.

Don’t really have an objection to it, congress salary and benefits are actually too low. But the fact remains, they do have better bennies than the average American. I mean, I make more than Senators do, well, if you don’t count graft and insider trading anyway.

I agree. Their pay is low but good benefits. Same for the military. It’s a trade off.
