Tell me more. lol

Nope. I’m bored and just throwing stuff out there lol. You’re correct in that I didn’t put much thought into that one.

That always sounds like the right thing to do for the suffering innocent populous, but in practice, there is no guarantee that those people will ever see any relief from that action. The history of dictators is to use starvation as a means of subjugation of their population.

True. BUT, we know for a fact that the people will starve without relief. And given the unique nature of that country, what’s to say that another warlord won’t arise, and with the support of the populace, overthrow the Taliban?

It seems to me that feeding the people might be in their self interest.

Has anyone ever even seen how much food the average Afghan grows?

Did someone steal their seeds?

Do you really think that anyone other than Taliban would be fed?

Somalia

Yes…

^^^ Apply Sneaky’s response to me here.

I honestly think the Taliban wants to be legit. If so, they need to feed their people.

And again, there is no shortage of potential warlords willing to rise up using feeding the people as a justification.

And just how do you propose getting the food to the “right” warlords?

That’s not what I meant. I meant that the warlords might use the starving populace as a reason to revolt against the Taliban.

Regardless, how do you propose getting the food you give to the right people?

I am saying let’s lift the sanctions, and let the Taliban feed the people. Let the country return to some semblance of normalcy

Again … how does that get food to the people that need it?

I dunno. How did Afghanistan distribute food prior to the Taliban’s return? Do it that way.

We aren’t there anymore.
