Now, keeping in mind that the key role of the legislative branch of the government is to legislate, and that the Senate is in Democratic hands, how much legislation do you think is going to get passed in the next 2 years?
A Keystone Keynesian is someone who only learned an excuse to spend more in bad times, but sees good times as an opportunity to spend more.
They represent the ultimate failure of Keynes’ ideas, that he failed to understand how his views would be received, and why he should be consigned to ignominy.
The good news is, Jeffries the rope-a-dope, flimflam artist has lost the power to further enslave hard working people of color living in our nation’s inner cities. And I am one who grew up in East Harlem and the south Bronx and remember all the businesses owned by blacks, which was before our federal government created the welfare state and destroyed the Black Family and its independence.
If Jeffries really cared about hard working black wage earners, he would work to end the unconstitutional direct tax on the property Blacks earn by the sweat of their labor!

“The property which every man has in his own labor, as it is the original foundation of all other property, so it is the most sacred and inviolable. The patrimony of the poor man lies in the strength and dexterity of his own hands; and to hinder him from employing this strength and dexterity in what manner he thinks proper, without injury to his neighbor, is a plain violation of this most sacred property.” ___ Butchers’ Union Co. v. Crescent City Co., 111 U.S. 746 (1884)
Also keep in mind the House Republican Leadership has the power to, and could, pass countless Bills which would actually benefit hard working people and would attract their support, only to have them, one after the other, being DOA in the Senate by its Democrat Leadership. This, of course, would encourage more and more working people, including those living in our nation’s inner cities, to end their relationship with the Democrat Party and this would hand the Senate over to the Republicans in 2024.
It’s time to show the Leadership in the Senate are nay sayers and obstructionists.
Meh, both parties make the claim to be “the only party working for America.” Most of us can see right through that and know that both parties care about one thing and one thing only - convincing voters of whatever it takes to get in power, and then maintaining that power by any means necessary.
It’s why more and more of us want nothing to do with either party now.
And tell me, what are you doing to improve the situation and expose the corruption when it shows its ugly head? Have you made any attempt to show how the phony balanced budget amendment trick has been used since the 1980s to con voters? Have you made any attempt to show how our founders intended shortfalls from imposts, duties and excise taxes are to be made up with the apportioned “direct tax”? Do you support the Fair Share Balanced Budget Amendment? If your answer is no to the above questions, then you, my friend, are part of the problem.

“We often give enemies the means of our own destruction.” – Aesop.
I see the border in the year 2034, a long line of folks waits to cross the border. In a small building the Speaker of the House asks the guy at the window: “Would you like fries with your citizenship and welfare?”
That is the question I think is important for the Republican Party Leadership to answer. And it seems to be answered HERE
Only one House member needed to file a motion to “vacate the chair”
Freedom Caucus members having a few seats on the House Rules Committee that will allow those members to leverage certain criteria behind voting for bills.
Voting on a bill setting term limits for members of Congress
Individual votes on each of the 12 appropriations bills and excluding earmarks from such bills
A vote on legislation surrounding border security
72-hour notice from release of legislation before voting on it
A vote on a balanced budget amendment
Of course, that answer immediately raises another question when it comes to “A vote on a balanced budget amendment”
Will the amendment offered to be voted upon be a phony BBA like the ONE PROPOSED BYRepresentative Lauren Boebert which would make it constitutional for Congress to not balance the annual budget, or, will it be the FAIR SHARE BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT which actually requires Congress to make up for any expenditures in excess of revenue raised from imposts, duties and excise taxes during the course of a fiscal year as intended by our founding fathers?
And with the GOP majority in the Congress a committee will soon be forming getting at the origins of Covid. Should that effort lead to the conclusion it was the Wuhan Lab and the Chinese government covered it up, then reparations as you pointed out Paul are owed the USA and the rest of the world. In that regard, part of the repayment could include the cancellation of certain American debt /reduction of interest rates related to pandemic relief funding that could possibly impact the budget deficit issue on this thread?
if you really want to cut the deficit just vote democratic. the gop claims be be deficit hawks but its the gop who blows up the deficit and then the dems cut it
The fight over the Speaker, was the answer to the question posed in the OP. The establishment vs the new wave of politicians that claim to be for, “we the people” and not for themselves.
One way to end the spiking of our national debt is to adopt the FAIR SHARE BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT which actually requires Congress to make up for any annual expenditures in excess of revenue raised from imposts, duties and excise taxes during the course of a fiscal year, which was intended by our founding fathers.
Let us stop the political partisan crap and get to work ending the financial suicide trainwreck we are on, or our children and grandchildren will suffer the devastating consequences.

We are here today and gone tomorrow, but what is most important is what we do in-between and is what our children will inherit and remember us by.
Should we be concerned that the committee finds that Fauci had a hand in it… and therefore the rest of the world takes action to repossess US property as compensation?
Lol no. What you can expect is a lot of preening investigations as Republicans try to turn their conspiracy mongering into reality, attempts to cut Medicare, the usual Republican performance art.
