I’m surprised you’ve never heard why that hammer (ditto space station toilet seat, and a plethora of other such custom items) cost what it did.
In fact, I truly believe you DO know why.
The story said the planes would cost 3.9Bn. That’s a savings of 100k. Pretty measly.
