I found this video of the Moscow metro during morning rush hour on March 31, which is after the recent shutdown. It shows uncrowded trains and stations. Many people are wearing masks, but they are not necessarily following the 6-foot rule for social distancing.

There are reports of continued crowding on New York subways, perhaps Moscow is doing a better job of stopping the virus in that department.

Russians are used to bending over for the gov’t.

If they refuse it usually doesn’t end well.

There was an article in the sports section of our newspaper today about Russian still holding soccer matches with people (most wearing face masks ) filling the stands.

Recent news is that someone must be watering down the vodka. Russia has become a hot spot for the virus:

Russia’s coronavirus case tally rose above 260,000 on Friday, cementing its status as the country with the second highest number of infections after the United States, as the city of Moscow began offering free antibody tests.
Russia’s death toll rose by 113 overnight to reach 2,418, Russia’s coronavirus task force said, while the case tally jumped by 10,598 to hit 262,843.

China has locked down the northern cities of Harbin and Shulan as a result of the virus coming in from Russia:
