Why isn't the private sector capable of saving itself?

Let me finish that thought for you.

…while I shut down my business indefinitely by order of the government and have to lay off all my employees.

…while I sit at home under a stay at home order, without a source of income due to my boss having to close his business by govt mandate.

Keep laughing.

Speaking of $1200, it just so happens that I happen to be in a good place financially and my job security is not in question as my company cannot really operate without me or someone with my skills.

That being said I’ve got a huge silver maple tree in my front yard I’ve been clamoring to have removed for 2 years now. Had several bids submitted and they are all in the 1200 range. I just could not get myself to part with 1200 I had in savings. But now I know exactly where that check is going to, and I dont have to feel bad because that money was tax I already paid into the government.

As a bonus a local tree service will get some financial support from me in the form of work.

You mean the one who’s gonna bail out airliners, send direct checks to people, run possibly $3trillion deficits because the private markets aren’t able to figure out COVID-19 themselves?

Not our fault you and your business don’t have 6 months expenses and insurance for this kind of thing

I work for a school district.

Try again.

This thread obviously went over your head.

Juxtapose it with this. Looks like all you cons agree with me that people shouldn’t get paid for not doing anything, even if it’s the government’s fault

Got to love it.

Well at least you given up on the morally Superior virtue signaling BS.

I’m donating mine to a needy family. Along with a couple of thousand more pounds of meat for the local food bank.

I bet I l’ve donated more

You think I am laughing AT YOU?

That’s rather arrogant.

I am laughing at the notion that “left wing socialist” is a thing when the government is giving out $1200 dollar checks.

I am sorry if you are impacted heavily by this… I am not laughing at you.

Actually you guys are the ones saying the private sector can’t be trusted which is why we need all this socialism from Trump.

That’s literally YOU GUYS in this thread

Sure you have…

You guys have been yelling at others to bootstrap for a decade plus. Just get a new job or go get some new skills. I have 12 months expenses saved. I’m responsible.

Oh wait, now that cons are in a situation that’s out of their control they want handouts

No, I don’t even know how you got that idea. I assumed you were laughing at the author of that post.

I just chose to finish your thought with what those people who actually may receive those checks and why they would take them.

I’m not “impacted heavily” by this. I still can work with my students via computer and am getting paid. Hubby is an essential employee and is still getting paid although their hours have been cut to 40 hours a week (yes he works more than 40 hours every week). Money wise, we are fine.

I am aware of many people who are not however and that $1200 is going to help them due to the fact they now have no income due to mandated closings by the govt.

It truly is not a laughing matter for some people.

Not my fault they don’t have 6 months savings in an emergency fund or their business never saved enough. I do. Doesn’t mean they can take my money.

Theft

Is that why you guys laughed about those obama phones?

That’s totally a mischaracterization of the whole situation.

Things are out of control because the govt mandating who wins and who loses in this situation.

In case you haven’t noticed and just had the worst economic Calamity of the last century is not in the history of the nation.

The reason we have 20 to 40% of America out of a job right now is because of a national Calamity the scale of which we’ve never seen before the government closed the business has the government put the people out of work.

Only the government can come up with 2 trillion dollars overnight to keep everybody from Starving in the streets that’s not socialism it’s responding to a crisis.

Bahahaha. What about the church??

Yeah, where is all that innovation that the free market promises?

Oh I see whole foods is asking their low paid workers to sacrifice their sick leave for their fellow low paid workers who get the corona virus or who get sick and think they might have it.

That’s certainly a kind of innovation.

Whole Foods is owned by the richest man on earth.
