Does ‘stronger’ have a positive of negative connotation to you?
Carlson’s affinity to Putin is pretty clear.
Why do I care what is going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia?!” Carlson said. “And I’m serious. Why do I care? Why shouldn’t I root for Russia? Which I am.”
Thread isn’t about China.
FWIW I think the article is overly complicated. The reason people on the right lean positive re: Putin (and I don’t think anyone, outside of a few whack jobs like Bannon, and Trump in his own weird way, really ‘like’ Putin) is simply politics.
Pawning the libs is what matters most to the base that will re-elect these people, so any thorn in the side of Biden and the Dems - even if that thorn is in Americas side as well - is to be appreciated.
i guess you purposefully missed the end where he said this was not meant seriously. personally, i don’t like carlson, never did, but I at least can be honest about it.
I think it’s fair to say, Trump has some kind of weird thing for authoritarian dictators.
The love letters with Kim, remember the chocolate cake thing with Xi, and siding with Putin against our intel?
And recently ignoring the invasion of Ukraine and asking Putin to release info on Biden?
Trump is an odd man…I think he has some kind of weird jealousy that these leaders are feared in a way he wasn’t. And he lacked the historical knowledge to realize WHY they are feared. Or he lacked the empathy to care…
I believe so. But he is abusing it and I believe he is using it incorrectly/Badly/terribly/illegally what ever negative adjectives you want. Strong leader can also be a bad leader. Strong leader and Good leader are not synonymous.
I would also say a strong leader can be a good or bad leader but a weak leader can never be a good leader.
and they certainly are not trying to defend him, but discount the statement made on the same episode of the show. i think he’s wrong about not taking sides, i think we should be on ukraines side and always should have been (and have been). his statement to me was a bit of argumentum ad absurdum, just debate technique, not to be taken seriously, which he clarified.
