I agree. Lets see if they do it.

Never after the 1st test? That is pretty stupid.
I have 20/15 vision, til my 40’s. Then got readers. I now have glasses for distance as well at 56. Although I usually wear contacts now…mono style.
I agree with you. But never after the first test when I was 17.

began. “If, a year ago, I told somebody we would have 75% effectiveness against the worst variants we had, they would consider this extremely good news,” Abu-Raddad adds.
I would agree.
Certainly would not use this as a reason to continue mitigation.

These are opinion message boards…not PhD defense committees.
Go ahead and look up the odds of ending up in a hospital from being hit by a bus… struck by lightning…and contracting a covid variant post vaccination.
They are all about million to one shots…the bus should be most likely…let us know.

A million to one. Our population is about 350 million. So using expected value, we would get 350 people who have been infected and killed by the variants. Want to bet it has been far more than 350?
Your comparison of odds is whack.
ETA: I just noticed your “post vacc”. On that, you may be right but the variants are just starting.

Why don’t anti vax people open their own restaurants, airlines, bars and businesses. Do whatever you want there. Stay away from places that want to have masks.
Here’s what I would propose. Have any governments (local, state, or federal) who still have any mask mandates remove them. Then leave it up to the business as to whether they would require masks and / or vaccines to enter their establishment, while not allowing them to escape liability for someone catching Covid on their premises by putting up signs that they would not be liable for illness or injury from Covid for anyone entering the store (and yes, I have seen signs with that verbiage here in GA).
Then everyone has a choice. Store can choose whether to require masks and / or vaccines for entry into their establishment (i.e. - no shirt, no shoes, no mask / evidence of vaccination, no entry). Then people can choose whether to get the vaccine or wear masks. If they choose to do neither, they can choose which establishments they enter based on what that establishment’s policies are.
Problem solved.
What about liability due to someone catching covid because someone else wasn’t following their policy? I would think a business owner shouldn’t be liable in that case, but rather the jackass that broke the business’ policy. What is the business supposed to do when someone doesn’t follow the policy, tackle people on their way in from the parking lot?
Costco was telling people they couldn’t enter without a mask and several did anyway. “There ain’t no law!”
I can only speak for myself, but I don’t give a rip for their health.
If they would just take the simplest steps for the public weal, we could get back to normal.
My state doesn’t have a mask mandate, but every damn business still does.

Anti-bodies huh…well I have a body so no thank you.
Yeah, in that case I’d say the person who broke the company’s policy would ultimately be held liable. The company lawyers could easily argue they established the policy, posted it, and the individual clearly violated the policy. In that case, I would view both the company and the person who caught Covid as victims.
I would also like to see companies call in local police when this happened. They would need a person to deny the offender entry until they complied with the policy. If they entered anyway, then at that point the person could legally be charged with trespassing.

There is no liability. If you get Covid it’s because you didn’t get vaccinated. Your problem. You don’t have a right to be safe from all disease anyway.

Let me guess… we can now add lawyer to your list of qualifications to opine on the pandemic, right?
They got a taste of control and do not want to give it up now.

The poster grudgingly admitted I was correct on the million to 1 shot.
That control they want is a huge pain and not worth the effort. Nobody listens anyway…

How are you proving that?

When is “quite low”?
You think COVID is going to “die out”?
CNN, of ALL media outlets, is actually reporting that vaccine hesitancy isn’t a partisan issue.

It’s not dying out. We’ll being seeing pockets of infection for years to come.
I think some governors are hesitant to relax mask mandates for fear of a slight uptick in infection. Fear of being blamed.
