Because its a girl name? Would you be okay calling her by a different name if it was gender neutral, like “Chris”?

What actual experience do you have with those who self identify differently from their birth sex or anyone who has transitioned? I have a family member who is and work with a fair number of LGBTQIA individuals. I respect their choices and guess what not one of them is forcing anything or wanting to be applauded.

I don’t know where you got that 7% from. The rate is closer to 0.2% per year. About 20% has been lost since the early 1970s.

I believe the 8 years line is referring to when the damage has become too irreversible to avoid future calamities. But I think what you’re failing to recognize is that there is no single monolithic scientific voice on the effects of climate change. There’s a scientific consensus that anthropogenic climate change is real and an issue, but when it comes to time tables, exact effects, and what not, there are many voices and opinions. Also I think a lot of what the anti-environmental folks gleam on to is when a non-scientists make statements like “New York City will be underwater by 2030” or stuff like that. You have to look at who’s making the claim.
