This is the question that libs love to ask as if owner of the rifle owes them an explanation. Make no mistake, libs you are not owed an explanation at all. Firearm owners are not accountable to you. Not one bit. You really have no right to ask why anyone owns any legal weapon. It’s basically none of your business. But. Since I am known as being incredibly, thoughtful and polite to our liberal members, I will generously answer this question so you never have to worry your little heads over this issue again.
Recreation. The shooting sports are just fun. And relieves way more stress than throwing darts.
Government oppression. Example: The Bundy case. I did not support their cause, but I did support their right to protest. During the protest, the ranchers found themselves in the crosshairs of government rifles. This should NEVER happen to peaceful demonstrators in America. Nobody should be subjected to the business end of a loaded weapon without being suspected of a crime. So how did it end? The ranchers put the government agents in their own rifle sights. And rather than risk a battle, the government bullies backed down. The second amendment at work.
When the big one hits California. There will be no law. It will be total chaos. Food shortages. Polluted water. People will panic. You may need to protect yourself from a mob.
A weaponized EMF pulse. (See example #3)
A riot. Antifa or other hysterical, crazed forces. The cops are not always there when you need them.
Yellowstone erupts. (See example #3).
A solar flare takes down the grid. (See example #3).
A catastrophic meteor impact. (See example 3#)
At least four of those items mentioned will definitely happen. It may happen tomorrow or in a thousand years. But make no mistake. It will happen. Did you notice I did not mention hunting? Liberals love to say that these weapons are not well suited for hunting and they are correct. That is why hunters also own hunting rifles. So libs, when you make it about hunting, you are missing the point. One final thing. This topic is not intended to be a discussion of what defines an “assault rifle.” I am merely doing the libs a favor, giving them the explanation that they are not owed.
For you maybe. But to me an UZI is a glorified pistol. Give me an AR. Lightweight, you can carry many rounds easily, accurate and plenty of power in a difficult situation. And I qualified as an expert shot twice in the Marines. So the AR works for me.
