I think you are looking at it a bit backwards in that the whole crux of the issue is that, well in the case i know of, that this person was male already from birth but was born in a girls body.
I don’t think even they nor i know exactly how it happens but people are born with all sorts of anomalys.

@plsd2mechu i am by no means an authority on the subject apart from the fact my daughters best friend transitioned at 12.
They are not gender confused i don’t think if its a genuine situation.
They are very clear that they were born in the wrong body.
It’s that certainty that causes them problems and i agree parents need to listen at least.
People speculate 12 is too young but those kids have been dealing with the issue for years and going into senior school can bring matters to a head.

Doesn’t need any new definition. A man or woman still means what it always did.
Its just there’s another group who maybe don’t fit into either group or were born the wrong gender.
They are known as trans and will be identified as such hence the distinction from us regular folks.

Well exactly @Eagle-Keeper it’s too outside the norm to be contrived and the answer is they were born with it.
I don’t know why its so hard to fathom.
I mean why are some kids born with cancer or any other mental and physical conditions.

You are saying that the body from the neck down defines who you are.
Trans people say the area from the neck up defines who they are and want their bodies to reflect that.
I don’t think any transgender on earth would try to claim they were naturally a woman or man, hence their whole dilemma in the first place.
How we deal/define these individuals is up to us.
