Why do we still have testing issues? QUEST statement on lead times

Actually the medical system lab.Doctor just writes the order.

Priority patients - those getting checked into hospitals or having procedures - get quicker results.

Iceland

Under the scheme, once the traveller has submitted their test sample, they would be allowed to proceed to their hotel or home. If their test result available later that day is positive, they will be quarantined for at least 14 days.

Also - with 11% UE, people will take the jobs…

There are how many Americans still on furlough, getting an extra $600 per week, waiting to return to an employer with whom they have seniority, and they’re going to apply for open positions that may have odd hour/weekend scheduling in an industry they don’t know? They’re going to stay short term if they do, & then you’re back to Square One to recruit & train new personnel.

Not everyone is willing to work odd day or shift schedules in such fields as health care & law enforcement, particularly if they’ve invested in a degree. O P needs to check the careers section of any medical lab to see all of the open positions.

He’s living in Dreamland if he thinks they’ll be instantly filled and those applicants will stay longterm.

People reject job opportunities all the time. Unemployment Insurance is the preferred path of some in my neck of the woods.

It’s a much smaller nation with a pretty homogeneous population with similar values.

Maybe in Iceland the jobless will accept those jobs, but many job seekers in the U S are choosers and even if they accept the positions, they don’t always stay.

Couldn’t say how many times I’ve seen that scenario in numerous industries. Physicians frequently have trouble retaining assisting staff.

Less are willing to go into law enforcement with police officers taking early retirement or civilian jobs.

You seem to think labs don’t generate job openings when in fact they frequently do. Check the careers section of any lab of your choice.

Having worked for the now defunct National Health Labs & V A, attrition was constant. Rule of thumb was don’t learn anyone’s name unless they last at least a week.

If this was World War II, trump’s approach would be to leave fighting the war to individual governors of all 50 states.

lol.

Bootstraps my good friend, boot straps.

Lot of words to say “iceland is just better at this than us.”

Doesn’t have to be that way. We are America.

All you are going to get out of some are the daily talking pts.

What other countries with a population of 330,000,000 or more are getting results out as quickly as we are?

We’ve gotten more testing done already than any other country on earth.

When are you people going to quit whining?

Iceland has 1/1000th of our population. The entire population of iceland is less that the hundred largest cities and in the US.

This isn’t a war and the president has no lawful or constitutional authority to take over the state’s responses to the outbreak.

Read your constitution.

I live in a 1,600 sq/mi county with less than 5,000 people and even our 60 bed rural hospital and clinic has it’s own lab and we’re running our own tests.

A lack of capacity hasn’t been a problem for months.

The figures are being massaged by Democrat embeds to scare people into distrusting POTUS’s management of the WHO-Sino COVID farce.

Iceland has the lowest unemployment rate in the entire OECD | Icelandmag.

Here they are for unemployment. Looks like the unemployment rate is lower than many other countries, making it possibly harder to fill some open positions.

How are they for weaning the unemployed off welfare state benefits? Here’s Europe during the 2008 Recession:

Norway seemed to move out of the Recession quicker than other countries. IIRC They’re pretty discouraging of remaining on UE, prefer to help they’re unemployed back to work.

Wanna try to force some on UI in the U S to accept certain jobs? Good luck with that.

The president is taking pandemic advice from Chuck Woolery.

The president is also the leader of the entire nation, and has a plethora of undeniably unique federal powers that are absolutely critical to solving the problem. He’s abdicated his responsibility to us all, out of fear, stupidity, incompetence, or all 3.

Wuhan tested 11 million people in 10 days. The US is failing miserably.

Testing in the U S is voluntary.

Do we plan to force our citizens to undergo this exam?
