Im listening to tom homan and he sounds really dumb. This idea that we need to waste billions to remove illegals is idiotic. Last time trump was in office he was paying companies like 1000$ a day to keep a migrant in a chain link cage. It was a massive scam.
Now the plan is that we hire a bunch of gov workers and do more of the same? We are trillions in debt this is the type of stupidity and constant grifting that got us in this situation.
All that is needed to deport the vast majority of illegals is make it clear that if you employee an illegal you get a huge fine and go to prison for a few months, doesn’t matter if you are a CEO or hiring someome to cut your grass. Create a national ID that is easy to get at any post office or DMV that is required to get a job and vote. We can solve two issues at once.
Then give any illegal who turns them self in a few hundred dollars and a plane ticket to anywhere else in the world.
Only thing left would be criminals which makes it much easier to deal with and we no longer need another massive bureaucracy and army of gov employees with a grift that adds more to the debt.
Still need to build an actual border but that cost is nothing compared to massive bureaucracy trump and tom want.
This illustrates the challenge with this whole mass deportation.
You cannot force airlines to take someone and you cannot force another country to take someone. What if they dont have a passport. How do you confirm they are here illegally?
What checks do we do before deporting and where do we house them while that is being done.
Who will provide food, medical assistance, ongoing education for children?
There is a whole lot to figure out and deportations will not start day 1
We already have ICE and the Border Patrol, in place ready to do the jobs they were originally supposed to do…as opposed to what they’ve been stick with while the border has been overrun the last four years …
Taking steps to get people to stop employing illegals…sure totally agree.
But we already spending a couple hundred billion a year on the mess we have now. If it costs a little extra or new people need to be hired then we can re purpose some DOGE waste fraud and abuse.
As far as Tom Homan is concerned that man has forgotten more about border security than most of us will ever know.
This is not going to be an easy project…that’s what happens when you have failures like the Biden bunch spending four years destroying the southern border.
Now someone is going to have to fix the mess they’ve made and it ain’t gonna be either cheap or easy.
Trump loves wasting money and blowing up the debt as much as the most reckless dem, if illegals cant work they would self deport and we can make it easy for them too leave.

That said, there also should be a limit of time to end it. Let’s see how Trump visions this? Both Vivek and Elon are brilliant and it’s going to get very interesting, very quickly.
it’d be much cheaper to approach the illegal immigration problem from the employer side but neither party wants to offend business interests so that’s never happening. Enact some laws clawing back percentage of revenue for offenses and invest more into E-verify. Europe has no problem fining Big Tech and they quickly get in line.
