Are you blaming President Trump for the death rate in the United States when the majority of deaths are in Democrat Controlled States in which bad decisions were and are being forced upon their residents by their Democrat Leadership which has led to a high death rate?
GOP-led States currently account for 72,149 total deaths as of right now. Out of a total of 190,628. So, almost 40% of all COVID deaths have originated out of Republican States and about 60% out of Democrat states. This virus does not recognize state borders, nor political party affiliation. Additionally, there are both Republicans and Democrats in each of the 50 states. We are all Americans.
This is a national pandemic. It needed a national, federal response. Trump failed. Blaming anyone and everyone other than the Chief Executive of the United States is absurd. And it goes to answer your question in the OP as to why the public does not trust Trump’s handling of the COVID pandemic. Because he has been an abysmal failure. Enough is enough. We are going to lose 300,000+ American lives to this crisis in 2020 alone. It ends in November. We need a new direction. Literal lives are hanging in the balance and are depending on it.

Seeing that that number is a small percentage of the number of people who had/have it, I would hazard a guess that the number of dead speaks more to the nature of the virus, rather than any response to mitigate it. But you kids go with your scary version of what is happening.

The fact is, as soon as President Trump knew the stockpile was depleted, he swiftly moved into action and refilled it, and in some cases used the Defense Production Act.

I suggest the president didnt ask and didnt care. He has no ability to think ahead. He has no ability to see anything beyond what is right in front of him. I suggest that even in Oct when Biden publicy said the US was unpreapred or in Jan when Biden said it was coming Trump was unable to aknowladge he should check.
You want him to get credit for what? No doing the job he was elected to do? Where is your credit to Joe Biden who raised the warning in Oct, Jan, and Feb while Trump was ignoring.
Bottom line is - we’ve let Trump “lead” the efforts on this for months now, with a result of almost 200,000 dead Americans. Remember when 3,000 dead Americans was a punch in the gut on 9/11?? Yes - that’s how immune the US population has become to people dying.
I, for one, am tired of all the death and disruption from routine that this virus has caused. Time to let someone else lead the efforts. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results is insanity.
