Reading the guys texts indicate he acted on impulse and even left the gun at the scene wanting to retrieve it later.
He admitted it straight away to his roommate.
He had no plan after and couldn’t shoot himself it seemed very unprepared to leave the gun at the crime scene and stupid to think he could just go back then telling his father.
The family said he only learned from them at dinner the week before Charlie was coming to town.

For 10 minutes. That’s the issue here. Once Floyd was clearly having medical difficulties (which everyone who was there could plainly see) he should have gotten off of him and called for medical aid.
The technique by itself wasn’t the issue. The issue was that Chauvin misapplied it.

and he would not have died no matter how long he was restrained otherwise

Once you’ve arrested someone, you are responsible for them. That’s why the majority of cops weren’t supporting Chauvin. They knew he ■■■■■■ up.
And just to make it clear, none of that justified the riots.

Well Floyd died didn’t he? And Chauvin ignored the clear signs that Floyd was in medical distress and didn’t do his ■■■■■■■ job by calling in medical support.
I thought it was a bit much. Floyd was a murder victim. Not some Medal of Honor awardee.

I’d say it’s murder 2 personally. Grave indifference to life. Not pre-meditated but based on that video we all saw Chauvin clearly didn’t give a ■■■■ what happened to the suspect that was in his charge and completely under his control 1 minute into the neck hold technique.

it’s an approved technique. it’s in his police handbook (that he wasn’t allowed to use during the media “show trial” by the way.)
The medical examiners’s original report indicates that he was actually overdosing in real time
And based on how Floyd was acting he was clearly in medical distress. And Chauvin should done his job and called for a medic. This was a Humbling that went horribly wrong.
Do you honestly think Chauvin did nothing wrong here?
